Lauren London Weave Inches

mutant heron

Piano Phase is a piece written by Steve Reich in 1967, involving two pianos.
They play a melodic motif loop of 12 notes nimble enough, initially in unison, to gradually shift and gradually create the famous and troubling phase effect mentioned in the title. Play
parts Reich requires concentration and a monstrous rhythmic rigor unusual ... Indeed, it is to remain undisturbed in its execution and not get caught up in the pace of the neighbor, or go into too much effects of music on pain of losing ground. The pianist Peter
Aidu found a clever ploy to avoid being distracted by a second musician: he plays both parts himself. A piano by hand.
It's idiot but he was thinking ...

Nuggets # 1: Give the paw Grandaddy

attempt to make this summer a little less boring again, I suggest you dig up these next few weeks a few rarities (demos, live excerpts disc slightly hard to find) in my humble personal collection thrown in your eardrums voracious grazing (but sensitive).
The pieces are chosen primarily for their musical quality, which contrasts with the often surprisingly high (B-side scrap album, etc ...) to which they were relegated in the discography of their authors. First delivery
with two pieces of skaters bearded Modesto, the late Grandaddy, champions of the indie pop-moon, who knew how to marry as anyone else's cheap Yamaha, complaints in head voice and guitar hairy.
The first piece, Sarah 5646766, is available on "The Windfall Variety ", a compilation CD sold at concerts of our loggers neurasthenic.
it although one of my favorite all the group, with its beautiful melody and melancholy his earthy common sense ..." It's Happiness That Matters anyway ... "

The other is easier to find, but worth a visit. It highlights the affiliation to the Pixies, including this haunting guitar motif on two notes on which is built the chorus, while affirming the hopeless "normality" which is the charm of the group. "I'm not well" Jason Lytle sings, not really in the mood to make his two duck feet is the caterpillar-restart ...
"I'm Not Alright" ...

Currently, if I were to tattoo the name of a group in Gothic letters on my hairless chest, I believe that my choice would be the unspeakable aPAtT

While I listened to a bunch of great records lately, none have me excited as much as "Black & White Mass" , last date of publication in this unlikely group of Liverpool. It must be said that under the proposed formula by the group itself, aPAtT is just a compilation of the highlights of many of my favorite bands, all styles. Note, however, has. PATT not carrying out the fusion of genres, preferring the juxtaposition frenetic zapping furious.
An English chronicler wrote elsewhere about their debut album these words that sum up well the spirit of the album:

"My CD player shows 66 tracks, the album cover name only 8, but I've heard at least 103 (unless it be of a single long room?) "

What else to say about this sick band that could convince you to go find their music? Let's try some bulk
arguments:

- They have held scenes homemade (sometimes including pyramidal hats), devoid of sleeve, to more elegant.
- They are between 6 and 10, all multi-instrumentalists, with enough funny nicknames borrowed from the lexicon of studios (Norma Lize, The Count In, Master Fader, General Midi, etc ...)
- their music is filled with accordion, electric guitars, cello and various samples. Frequent use of "pitchshifting" (alteration of height of digital means).
- They come from Liverpool (at the same time, it does not include).
- They released a free downloadable EP , on the principle of mash-ups, with a super-wallet away a classic '80s (which I will not name for teaser serious as it is true that aPAtT not catch flies with vinegar)
- They produce refined visuals such as
- their name is pronounced "ape hat", while connement like a monkey hat. Normal.
- their songs may suggest, as appropriate, to ghosts, Mothers Of Invention, Ween, Camper Van Beethoven, the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, the Soft Machine debut, the Beastie Boys, to the late Thinking Fellers Union Local 182 and even the little-known yet excellent Alec K Redfearn but also garage or psychedelic stuff a little short it is barred ... bubbling, exuberant , both grotesque and sublime ...

The band toured France in November (with the other nutters of Chops).
Meanwhile, taste me this:

Apprentice Warning (from Black & White Mass )

Firebird (from Black & White Mass )

Note also that the unique earthy "Fucking Hostile" is a free download on the band's myspace .

Vaguely Twins # 10: Tim and Ian

I must admit that this single from Tim Fleming Vanhamel (Millionaire, Evil Superstars, dEUS, Eagles Of Death Metal ...) is far from unpleasant.
could almost forget the bad boy hauls of Calvin Klein and the clip to the cowl (I'm too kind a natural born killer in my Teuta). But
is: The guy obviously knows good songs and lay demonstrated a versatility uncommon.

but I can not help but point out the disturbing similarity between the formidable Belgian Popsongs issue and work too often underestimated the huge Pale Saints, including the following song, entitled "Throwing Back The Apple".

If Tim has never heard beautiful singing Ian Masters, I will eat a meatball through the nose.
