From "The Sweater Song " to " Itsi bitsi bikini " of "My Adidas " to " White Sweater" via La Chemise Grise , many were the songs that took them on a piece of clothing.
Remains of happy days or more simply flags a singular personality, these pieces of cloth were often a pretext for more or less subtle metonymy, playing the card of detail-of-the-daily-life-who-speaks-on-the-world, suggesting in the background of the painful loneliness of a materialistic world.
The song today, sung by the unspeakable Once Upon A Time is of another ilk: It is squarely a test on the pants fabric from Nimes (models to choose from, good how to wear them), together with pertinent remarks and very well shot.
Ex: "It is turning the boys' eyes when it's tight, it often has difficulty stringing", a syntax that would Lautreamont jealous if he wore a jacket with fringe.
There would, in fact, many things to say about this song:
- the solemn atmosphere, air, quasi-mystical crosbistillznachaineyounguienne, perfectly suited to the depth of the subject
- the splitting of the bold word "jeans" in "jean / sssssssss"
on the chorus - the shift towards forms vocation or the "Minette" obviously refers to "Darling" ronsardien.
- overall propensity to pervert portnawak
- the final appallingly stupid.
But I prefer to let you enjoy it and give me - please - your own exegeses ...
Once Upon A Time "Jeans"
